Kanye West Fools His Lawyer; Cuts Off Contact Without Paying Money: Report

Kanye West has reportedly cut off contact with his lawyer, Brian Brumfield, without even paying him.

In Touch Weekly reported that Brumfield has asked to be removed from representing West in a lawsuit against Justin Poplawski, who claims West assaulted him after asking for an autograph.

“The Defendant, Kanye West, terminated the relationship on June 21, 2024. The Defendant also will not speak with counsel and the Defendant has refused to pay for counsel,” Brumfield said in his filing. A hearing on the motion has been set for late July 2024.

Poplawski sued West in January 2024 after being attacked by the rapper at the SoHo Warehouse in Los Angeles in 2022, The Daily Mail reported. He claimed West lost his temper when he asked for an autograph.

“I’m going to make an example of you,” West allegedly told Poplawski. He was then punched in the face and asked if he wanted to “get hit for real?” The man asked the rapper to apologize, but he refused.

“Defendant is informed and believes, and based on that information and belief, alleges that Defendant had a legitimate reason to engage in any and/or all of the acts set forth in the Complaint,” Poplawski’s lawsuit reads. “All causes of action alleged in the Complaint are barred to the extent [West] acted to protect themselves and/or others.”

West’s move to cut ties with Brumfield comes after he and his wife, Bianca Censori, both received new complaints about their behavior and treatment of employees on the YZY Porn and YZYVSN projects.

According to the lawsuit, Censori allegedly sent an explicit pornographic video to one of the employees. Additionally, the alleged link was allegedly made accessible to minors while developing the app.

“On information and belief, on or about April 27, 2024, Defendant Ye’s wife, Bianca Censori, sent a YZYVSN employee a link to share a hardcore pornographic file for the Yeezy Porn App,” the document reads, adding that the employees used Discord to share “pornographic images.” “No barriers were put in place to prevent underage YZYVSN employees from working for Yeezy Porn or from being exposed to and forced to view pornography in order to perform their jobs,” the lawsuit continues.
