With the Lok sabha elections finally completed and the BJP-led NDA Alliance winning the election, the entire country now awaits the new session of Parliament. Today In this article we will discuss the upcoming National Assembly session in 2024. This will be the 18th National Assembly session and this year will be different from the past 2 National Assembly sessions. The Modi 3.0 government was not able to win a big majority like last time, which is why this year there will be strong opposition in parliament. Furthermore, on June 9, 2024, Prime Minister Narendra Modi along with 78 ministers took oath of office. Let’s take a look at the information about the upcoming 2024 National Assembly session.

When will the Congressional session begin in 2024?

Before the start of the official session, there will be an 8-day special National Assembly session to elect a speaker and administer the oath of office to new parliamentarians. According to reports, the new eight-day parliamentary session is expected to begin from June 24, 2024. The lok sabha speaker will be elected on June 26, followed by an oath-taking ceremony of elected parliamentarians. This will not be a formal session as after the conclusion of this 2024 special parliamentary session, there will be a budget session and the date will be announced soon.

What will happen in the upcoming 2024 National Assembly session?

The upcoming parliamentary session will begin with a speech by the President of India. In this speech, she will welcome all the representatives elected by the people and will tell them the importance of their seats and their power. Thereafter, most senior Lok Sabha MPs will become pro-tem speakers and he or she will conduct the election for the new Lok Sabha chairman. Once the Lok sabha chairman is selected by the votes of the current Member of Parliament, he or she is sworn in by the new MP.

When will the budget session take place in 2024?

The Modi government because of the election did not present the entire budget but only an interim budget. Now since they have won the election early, they will bring the new budget for 2024 to the lok sabha after completing the special session of parliament. This budget will broadly cover the revenues and expenditures of central government programmes.

So, as you may have understood, the new parliamentary session will start from June 24, 2024. It is interesting to see a strong opposition in the lower house after so many years and the parliament will function as under these conditions
