Justin Timberlake was arrested in New York, still in custody on DWI charges

Authorities arrested Justin Timberlake in the Hamptons on Monday shortly after midnight.

Police arrested him and remains in custody, but he will appear in court later today.

People magazine reported that Timberlake was arrested for drunk driving after dinner at the American Hotel in Sag Harbor, located on eastern Long Island.

According to a Daily Mail insider, the “Cry Me A River” crooner had dinner with friends and was later stopped by law enforcement while leaving the gathering just after midnight.

“[Timberlake] was out to dinner with friends and police cars were stationed outside the restaurant like most other nights.”

“They look for people who left after midnight and may have been drinking.”

As soon as Timberlake left at 12:30, sources said he was promptly stopped by law enforcement. Fortunately, no injuries occurred and the situation was not chaotic.

Timberlake recently took the stage on Saturday at the Kaseya Center in Miami. The “sexy back” singer is set to perform Friday and Saturday at the United Center in Chicago.

Fans can also catch him in back-to-back shows next Tuesday and Wednesday at Madison Square Garden in New York City.

The possibility of Timberlake having to reschedule any upcoming tours due to the recent arrest remains uncertain.

Timberlake has not addressed the incident on his social media platforms, with his most recent post dedicated to Father’s Day last Sunday.
