Katy Perry’s Biggest Risk: Why the Singer Chose to Be Labeled ‘Morally Bankrupt’ and Work With Dr. Luke

Katy Perry is reportedly hoping her latest song, “Woman’s World,” will receive a positive response.

Unfortunately, the “Roar” singer finds herself caught up in a situation involving her upcoming album and controversy, as attention now turns to music producer Dr. Luke, who is credited with working on the unreleased album.

News of the producer writing the lyrics for the song has caused tension due to his history of legal disputes with singer Kesha.

Known by his stage name Łukasz Sebastian Gottwald, Dr. Luke is a talented music producer known for his collaborations with artists such as Britney Spears and Avril Lavingne.

In October 2014, singer Kesha made serious allegations against him, sparking an investigation into his actions. As a result, the “TikTok” singer opted to part ways with his record label Kemosabe Records, ending her recording contract after a decade-long legal battle in which she accused Dr. Luke of both sexual and emotional abuse.

Despite Kesha’s claims, the producer continues to deny the allegations against him.

After her accusations became public, many artists, especially female artists, faced criticism for their decision to collaborate with Dr. Luke.

Despite the backlash, however, Perry remains undeterred in working with him, with sources saying she credits him with helping her make a successful musical comeback.

An insider told the Daily Mail that the “California Girls” hitmaker was keen to work with the Grammy-nominated producer, even as he faced legal issues over sexual assault allegations over their successful collaboration on hits like “I Kissed A Girl” and “Teenage Dream.”

“She understands that she’s going to be controversial working with Dr. Luke again, but they work so well together and have such a good relationship that she understands him in a way that no one else does.”

They continued, “Her relationship with Dr. Luke is very important. So working with him again is something she doesn’t mind, even though a lot of fans do.”

The source continued, “She’s scared because the music world can be so fickle these days, artists are here one minute and gone the next – but she thrived.”

“Perry is ready to take on the challenge and she believes in her new album and work. A lot of people want to see her fail, but she sees it as motivation.”

They concluded, “She can’t wait to support her album and prove everyone wrong. She wants this to be her renaissance.”

When news of their collaboration broke, social media users were outraged, with @Hasan_Moneybags tweeting, “The fact that Katy Perry would collaborate with Dr. Luke just to revive her flagging career while releasing a new song about female empowerment really shows how morally corrupt she is.”
