Early life
Khumbudzo Ntshavheni was born on 30 January 1977.
She was born and raised in a modest family, her mother worked in the Taxi business, and her father owned a store.
She was born in her hometown of Sibasa in the Transvaal province of South Africa. At age 14, she persuaded President Nelson Mandela to adopt 16 as South Africa’s voting age during the CODESA negotiations.

She graduated from Mbilwi High School and obtained her MBA from the University of Bradford in the UK in 2008. She obtained her degree in Industrial Relations and Development Studies from Rand Afrikaans University.
Career
Khumbudzo Ntshavheni began her career as the Chief Municipality Officer of Ba-Phalaborwa Local Government in the Limpopo region of South Africa from 2008 to 2010. She also worked as the Director of Tourism at the Department of Trade and Investment. from Limpopo, Chief Information Officer of the Limpopo Provincial Department of Local Government and Housing and Spokesperson to the Limpopo Prime Minister.
She had a brief teaching career. She was a lecturer at the University of South Africa before holding the position of Chief Executive Officer at the State Information Technology Agency (SITA). She was appointed to the Denel Board by Minister for Public Enterprises, Lynne Brown, to serve as a non-executive director of the organisation.
She is a member of the National Executive Committee of the African National Congress (NEC) Youth Confederation. Because she loves and cares about South African youth, she actively participates in many activities and programs aimed at improving the interests and lives of South African youth.
In April 2013, she was part of a group of 22 appointed to the National Task Force of the African National Congress. This group was tasked with restructuring the African National Congress Youth League (ANCYL) from branch, regional and provincial levels and the work achieved average to excellent results at all levels. all levels.
After her election to Parliament in May 2019, President Cyril Ramaphosa appointed her as Minister for Small Business Development.
