Maren Morris and Julia Michaels have joined forces for a new collaboration that’s sure to make men a little more grateful.
The two music superstars have released the music video for their collaboration titled “Scissors”. In it, two women use scissors for various purposes, including cutting ribbons and disfiguring a man.
Although the video is mostly playful, at the end of the video, the women decide to castrate their exes with a pair of scissors.
This is Morris’s latest foray into pop music. She was a superstar in the country music industry before switching to the pop music genre.
“I think I want to burn it to the ground and start over,” she told the manager. Los Angeles Times her career. “But it will burn itself out without my help.”
More recently, she shared that she left because she felt her voice was diminished in this genre.
“We all had different reasons for leaving,” Morris said via MSN. “It wasn’t really a plan for me. I just started seeing my voice getting quieter and the ceiling getting lower. I just felt like ‘I’m going to have to sacrifice a lot of amenities. to be able to do what I want to do.'”
Her last album is 2022 Humble missionbut she’s released two EPs since — the transition Bridge and then pause last year. “Scissors” isn’t the first time she and Michaels have collaborated. They wrote a song called “Cut” by Morris’ pause EP.
Meanwhile, around the time she left the country music scene, Morris came out publicly as a member of the LGBTQ community. In a post on her Instagram account, Morris shared that she is bisexual.
“So happy to be the B in LGBTQ+, happy and proud!”
Morris went public after divorcing her ex-husband, country singer Ryan Hurd. They were married for 5 years before breaking up. Together, they share son Hayes.
Once their divorce was finalized, details of their settlement were revealed with the couple expected to share custody of Hayes. Additionally, Morris must pay Hurd $2,100 per month in child support for their son.
