Early life

Olumide Oworu was born to Mr. and Mrs. Oworu on the 11th of December 1994. He was born at a private medical center in Surulere, Lagos. He is of Yoruba descent and an indigene of Lagos State.

He is a Lagos born man and has lived in the city since he was a child. His formative years were spent in Surulere.

Olumide Oworu speaks English, Yoruba and Pidgin fluently. He comes from a middle class background and was raised in the Christian faith. He is the only child of his parents.

He is an alumnus of King’s College Lagos where he graduated with high marks in his O’Levels examinations. Olumide Oworu obtained his BA from the private Christian university Babcock University in 2017.

Career

Olumide Oworu began his acting career at the age of six when he landed a role in the television series Everyday People. He acted alongside Nollywood icons such as Sam Loco Efe, Carol King and Nobert Young. After his success in Everyday People, he landed more roles in Nollywood films and television series.

He was cast in MTV Shuga Season 3 and 4, where he played the character – Weki. Olumide Oworu has appeared in numerous films and television series. Notable mentions include A Soldier’s Story, 8 Bars and a Clef, The Patriot, Staying Strong, Hammer, The Men In Her Life and Man Of God, among many others.

He became a household name with his recurring role in the Africa Magic television series The Johnsons. Olumide Oworu plays Tari in this family drama alongside veteran actors such as Charles Inojie, Chinedu Ikedieze, Kunle Bamtefa and Ada Ameh.

In 2021, he landed a role in Ndani’s web series Rumour Has It season 3. He was cast as Atlas in the Netflix original series Far From Home. The series is set to release in December 2022.
