He holds the record for being the youngest world champion in WWE, winning at the age of 24. His real name is Randal Keith Orton. He retired from wrestling after suffering a back injury.

Early life and education

Randy Orton is the son of professional wrestler Bob Orton Jr. and nurse Elaine Orton. He was born in Knoxville, Tennessee, United States, on April 1, 1980.

He is the nephew of Barry Orton and the grandson of professional wrestler Bob Orton Jr. He has a younger sister named Becky Orton and an older brother named Nathan Orton, who is a stand-up comedian. One of his older brothers is named Roderick Orton.

His father warned him that life in the ring meant life on the road and away from his family. Knowing the hardships of life as a professional wrestler, his parents tried to convince him to stay away from the profession. Randy Orton was an amateur wrestler when he was a student at Hazelwood Central High School.

Randy Orton joined the Marine Corps in 1998 after graduating from high school. He was discharged for poor conduct at base in 1999 for defying orders from superior officers and deserting twice. He was prosecuted and convicted by a special court-martial under the Uniform Code of Military Justice, and subsequently spent 38 days in prison at Camp Pendleton.
