The mother of a victim of a drunk driving accident has spoken out about her disappointment after Justin Timberlake joked about his June 18 drunk driving incident during a Saturday concert in Boston.

“So, uh, is anyone here driving tonight — no, I’m just kidding,” he remarked during the performance, seemingly making light of the possibility that his audience might be driving drunk. Timberlake thanked his fans for their support over the past 30 years.
The former *NSYNC star faces a drunken driving charge, along with citations for failure to maintain lane and failure to stop at a stop sign, stemming from an incident that allegedly occurred after midnight in the Hamptons, New York, last month.

Sheila Lockwood, whose 23-year-old son Austin was killed by a drunk driver in 2018, expressed her frustration to Fox News Digital, claiming Timberlake had lost one of his fans due to his comments in Boston. She insisted that there was “nothing funny about” the allegations against the international pop star.
“It’s disappointing. He has a huge platform that he could use to raise awareness about this issue,” Lockwood said. “This is a national crisis. Every 79 seconds, someone is killed or injured by drunk driving, and he’s standing on stage making jokes about it. It’s not funny.”

Lockwood also noted that since Timberlake’s lawsuit is still ongoing, he should have kept quiet about it. Joking about it shows his true colors. The mother believes the singer should have taken “the opportunity to make it a teaching moment and raise awareness and acknowledge that his choices that night were not good.”
“It’s not funny, and as a mother who lost a son, I’m very frustrated. He lost a fan here. I don’t think it’s appropriate, and there’s nothing funny about it. What message does it send to young fans?” she said.
Amid all of this, and despite the intense breakup rumors that have been swirling, Biel has remained relatively quiet about the whole thing—from the accident to the pranks. Some say this has left them frustrated that the wife is just acting like a “fan girl” who doesn’t want to correct her errant husband.
As the singer faced criticism after being arrested and charged with drunk driving, many were waiting for his wife’s public response.
Despite this, she has always shown support for her husband.
Sources now say the former NSYNC frontman is struggling with personal challenges and may need support, but those close to him, particularly Biel, have been reluctant to address the issue directly.
A source told In Touch Weekly that Biel also pampers her husband.
