Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’ Biggest Legal Storm: Federal Grand Jury Takes Target In New York Criminal Probe

Sean “Diddy” Combs is facing more legal challenges.

Sources familiar with the ongoing legal issues surrounding Combs told NBC News that a federal criminal investigation is underway. Two sources said a federal grand jury in the Southern District of New York is actively reviewing evidence related to a crime.

NBC further reported that there was no indication that charges were imminent. Combs had not yet received a target letter, which is typically issued by the U.S. attorney when there is substantial evidence that an individual is involved in criminal activity.

The reasons, purpose and driving factors of this investigation remain secret, but the government has kept Combs and his legal team updated on the matter.

In March, federal agents raided Combs’ home. After breaking in, they systematically searched Combs’ mansion, confiscating electronic devices and meticulously searching every nook and cranny for clues vital to their investigation.

When examining the chaotic scene after the federal search, it was clear that clothing and shoes were strewn across the floor, furniture was overturned, and the safe was open with documents scattered about.

The Combs children’s rooms were not spared from the fire, as teddy bears and other stuffed animals were scattered across the ground.

Reports at the time said there was significant damage at his residences in Los Angeles and Miami as a result of the raids.

Given current events, it’s no surprise that Combs recently put his $70 million Los Angeles estate up for sale, according to TMZ.

The massive home, located in Los Angeles, spans 17,000 square feet. It features eight bedrooms, 11 bathrooms, a state-of-the-art 35-seat movie theater, a fully equipped gym, and an elaborate wine room. There is also a 3,000 square foot guest house on the lavish property.

Despite being built more than a decade ago, the “I Need A Girl” rapper’s home has been updated with modern touches. However, the property’s significant cost and location could pose challenges in finding a buyer.

News of Combs’ departure from the Sunshine State comes amid a rising sex trafficking case.

Model Adria English accused Combs of manipulating her into sex trafficking in 2004. She also accused him of pressuring another model to perform oral sex. She also sued Tamiko Thomas for allegedly orchestrating sex trafficking, among other charges.
