Seth Adham Curry (born August 23, 1990), also known as Seth Curry, is a famous professional basketball player from the United States. He is best known for participating in the National Basketball Association (NBA).
His brother, Stephen Curry, plays for the NBA’s Golden State Warriors, and his father, Dell Curry, is a former NBA player. His younger sister, Sydel Curry, is a volleyball player at Elon University in North Carolina. Second-generation NBA player Seth Curry has made a name for himself in a short period of time.
Seth Curry represented his country at the 2009 FIBA U-19 Basketball World Cup in New Zealand. He averaged 9.0 points, 1.1 assists and 2.2 rebounds as the team won the tournament.

Early life and education
Seth Curry’s father, Dell Curry, played in the NBA from 1986 to 2002. Seth Curry was born on August 23, 1990, in Charlotte, North Carolina, United States. His mother, Sonya Curry, played college volleyball at Virginia Tech.
He learned the intricacies of the game at an early age, watching his father play and practice with his team as a child. In Charlotte, North Carolina, he attended Charlotte Christian School.
Seth Curry played basketball for his high school and was a starter for three years. He spent four years on the school’s academic honor roll before graduating from Charlotte Christian School in 2008.
Career
Seth Curry began playing basketball in high school. He averaged 22.3 points, 5.0 assists, and 5.0 rebounds during his senior year. He earned SAA All-American and All-State, All-Conference, and All-Conference honors at the end of the season.
He helped his team accumulate several victories, leading Charlotte Christian to the state finals in 2006. He graduated from high school in 2008 and enrolled at Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia, USA. He had the highest scoring average of all freshmen in the country in his first year at the university, averaging 20.2 points per game. Additionally, he set the Big South Conference freshman scoring record in a single season.
After one year there, Seth Curry transferred to Duke University in Durham, North Carolina. Due to transfer rules, he was not allowed to play in the following basketball season (2009–10). While playing for Duke, he used the number 30, which belonged to his family.
When Kyrie Irving injured his toe and needed rest, Seth Curry was named the new starter. With 17 points in a game against the Miami RedHawks, who represented the University of Miami, he surpassed the previous leading scorer. He scored 22 points against the North Carolina Tar Heels, who played for the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, on February 9, 2011, to become the season’s leading scorer.
Seth Curry scored 31 points on December 29, 2012, against the Santa Clara Broncos of Santa Clara University. He set a new career high against Santa Clara. He was named to the All-ACC (Atlantic Coast Conference) first team at the end of his senior year. He was also named to the Sporting News second team All-American that same year.
After a stellar college career, he entered the 2013 NBA draft. However, he was not selected by any team. Seth Curry signed a non-guaranteed contract with The Golden State Warriors, a team based in the San Francisco Bay Area, on August 23, 2013. He played for the team in six preseason games before being released on October 25, 2013.
On November 1, 2013, the Santa Cruz Warriors of the NBA Development League acquired him as an affiliate player. On November 22, he played his first game for the team and recorded 36 points, six assists, and three rebounds. Seth Curry was acquired by the Memphis Grizzlies on December 24, 2013, and made his NBA debut on January 5, 2014. However, the Grizzlies quickly released him. He was later acquired by the Santa Cruz Warriors.
He was added to the Futures All-Star roster for the 2014 NBA D-League All-Star Game on February 3, 2014. He agreed to a 10-day contract on March 21 with the Cleveland Cavaliers in Cleveland. Seth Curry played in 38 games and finished the 2013–14 campaign averaging 19.7 points, 5.8 assists, 1.4 steals and 3.1 rebounds.
He signed with the Orlando Magic in July 2014 to play in the NBA Summer League before being acquired by the Phoenix Suns to play in the Las Vegas Summer League. On September 29, he signed with the Orlando Magic for the following season. His NBA D-League rights were acquired by the Orlando Magic’s affiliate team, the Erie BayHawks, on October 7, 2014.
Seth Curry was released by the Orlando Magic in late October 2014, allowing the Erie BayHawks to officially sign him. He attended D-League training camp after his acquisition. On November 24, he played in his first game for the BayHawks and contributed 23 points in his team’s win over The Idaho Stampede.
He signed a 10-day contract with the Phoenix Suns on March 11, 2015, and played in one game for them against the Minnesota Timberwolves. On March 21, after the end of his 10-day contract with the Phoenix Suns, he returned to the BayHawks. He was acquired by the New Orleans Pelicans in July for the 2015 NBA Summer League.
Seth Curry was named to the All-NBA Summer League first team after averaging 24.3 points per game in the tournament. He signed a $2 million contract with the Sacramento Kings on July 22, 2015, and while playing for the Kings, he scored a career-high 21 points against the Portland Trail Blazers and tied the mark against the Miami Heat.
He then finished with a total of 40 points in games against the Oklahoma City Thunder and the Phoenix Suns. Seth Curry was signed by the Dallas Mavericks on July 15, 2016, and on January 29, 2017, he scored 24 points in a game against the Spurs. He scored 46 points overall against the Los Angeles Lakers and the San Antonio Spurs.
On February 24, 2017, he scored a career-high 31 points against the Minnesota Timberwolves. He suffered a left tibia injury during the 2017–18 campaign and missed the entire year. He signed a two-year contract with the Portland Trail Blazers on July 6, 2018.
After returning, Seth Curry signed a four-year contract with the Dallas Mavericks in 2019. He was traded by the ‘Philadelphia 76ers’ for Josh Richardson in 2020.

On September 14, 2019, Seth Curry married Callie Rivers, a former professional volleyball player. Their daughter, Carter Lynn Curry, was born in 2018 before they were married.
