An administrator, volunteer singer, and son of the head of human resources at the church, he was sexually assaulted by Anna Crenshaw. Hillsong Church did not take any action against Jason for months after Anna’s report, and Jason initially denied the incident. But when it was finally confirmed, he was placed on paid leave.

At the time, Ashley had just given birth to her first child, but she still led Anna’s volunteer group. While Jason insisted that Anna intentionally came between him and his family.

In January 2020, Jason pleaded guilty to “indecent assault.” He was subsequently placed on two years of probation and required counseling. He was also banned from any ministry for 12 months. Meanwhile, Anna left Hillsong College and the church. The church’s general counsel eventually dismissed the case, responding that their ministry team would continue to care for Anna as they had always done while maintaining their duty of care to Jason, his wife, and their family as a church. “Jason’s actions have caused pain not only to Anna, but also to his wife Ashley, not to mention other family members,” he wrote in his final words.

Fast forward to today, Jason and Ashley are still together, married, and even happy.

The two married on September 26, 2013. Four years later, on their anniversary, Jason was seen raving about how Ashley was his first and only girlfriend, her best friend in the world, etc

Then, on Valentine’s Day last year, Jason gushed about how his girl had been a pillar of strength over the past few years. He went on to write on social media that he was pinching himself to think that they’d been together for a decade.

So, Jason has always been a man of big words. He has also repeatedly credited his wife for inspiring him and being a great mother to their children.
