Meet Latoya Ellis, wife of HGTV star Chris Lamont

Latoya Ellis may have married Chris Lamont on November 19, 2022. But she was his wife even before the two tied the knot at a wedding attended by family and friends. That’s right, Chris has been calling Latoya his “wife” for a long time. And it makes sense since they’ve been together for so long — even their kids are grown now!

Their two sons, Chris and Jayden, were even present at the wedding as groomsmen.

If you like Buy It or Build It, you may have seen little Chris on HGTV. He appeared in an episode of the show in June 2022, helping his dad with a renovation. “I had to shoot a few scenes with my son Chris Jr. today. He’s a natural. I better be careful, he might take my job,” Chris joked in a post.

Chris Lamont Jr., also a track and field athlete, and his friend qualified for the Texas regionals in June 2022. He only needs one more track meet to qualify for the Youth Olympics — at just 11 years old.

As for Jayden, he turns 4 in August 2022.

Latoya Ellis is a middle school teacher. She has been teaching children for over 9 years.

For her part, she graduated from Rutgers University.

Chris, on the other hand, is a graduate of Piscataway High School and received his Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management from Lehigh University College of Business in 2007.

He and his brother then moved to Dallas, TX and opened a cleaning and floor cleaning company. And now, they help people in Dallas make the big decision about their dream home on HGTV’s Buy It or Build It.

According to the star, the renovation was an “opportunity to take something that was considered undesirable and create something beautiful and soft from it.” He also said it was “amazing” to see the family’s faces when they saw the results of a beautiful remodel.

In addition to Buy or Build, Chris also worked at The FOCIS Group LLC, a company he co-founded in May 2009, and CWC Restoration & Construction, another company he co-founded in January 2009.

Latoya’s parents got married on July 18, 1981 and remained happy until 2022.

His father-in-law, Patrick, is originally from Buffalo, New York. He studied Business, Finance, and Healthcare at AIU Buckhead and then went on to join Sidra Medical and Research Center as an SME.

Patrick met the love of his life Dawn in the 80s and married her on August 20, 1983.

Her mother-in-law, Dawn, works as the “Director of Healthcare Patient Services” at MT. West Sinai.
