She returned to Chicago, completed her bachelor’s degree in education at Pestalozzi Froebel Teachers College, and also completed her master’s degree in education at Roosevelt University. She taught first grade in Broadview, Illinois, and Greek school in Skokie, Illinois.

Christopher’s father, Deno, had two older brothers, Alexander and Theodore, who predeceased Deno. Alexander, the second of three sons, graduated from both Muskegon High School and Muskegon Junior College, and was even more proud to graduate from the University of Michigan, where he earned his BA and MA in History.

Alexander achieved ABD status in the study of Balkan history when he decided to complete his studies and took a teaching position at Grand Rapids Junior College, where he taught American Politics and Government for 29 years. He was a passionate student of American politics, American history, and European history throughout his life.

Theodore, the youngest of three children, was an active member of the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church in Muskegon. He had a beautiful singing voice which he contributed to the church choir. His family members were always amazed at his ability to quickly understand how electrical and mechanical devices worked. He graduated from Muskegon High School and Muskegon Junior College.
