Will Smith performed a new song at the BET Awards 2 years after his Oscar slap

Will Smith is preparing to conquer the music industry two years after his infamous Oscar slap.

On Sunday, June 30, the BET Awards will feature performances and honor artists in the industry. The ceremony will also see Smith perform his new, original song.

According to NBC News, there have been multiple reports claiming Smith is working on a new album following his cameo with J Balvin at the Coachella Festival in April. The Men wear black actor donned his remarkable outfit for the Columbia star’s UFO-themed performance.

“From his beginnings as a rapper to ‘The Fresh Prince’ to box office kingpin as one of the Bad Boys, Will Smith is truly a global icon and we are honored to welcome welcome him back to the BET Awards stage,” said Connie Orlando, special EVP, music programming and music strategy at BET. “We look forward to Will adding another signature night of must-see culture.”

This will be Smith’s first major solo performance in more than two years after the infamous slap around the world. The incident involving Chris Rock occurred after this person joked about Jada Pinkett Smith.
