During a performance in Brooklyn, New York on Thursday night, R&B prodigy Mariah the Scientist reacted excitedly to the news of Young Thug’s release. She shared on stage: “Someone told me I would never see him again… Please do it until the end so I can get on this plane.”

The artist is extremely grateful after it was announced that Young Thug will be released under a plea agreement following charges of conspiracy to violate the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) Act as well as like the activities of criminal street gangs. “This is more than what we prayed for,” Mariah said in a statement to WSBTV. We are so grateful, this is the best opportunity we have ever had.”

The rapper and R&B singer began dating in October 2021, with Mariah standing by his side until his arrest in May 2022. The Atlanta native has never shown signs of leaving her partner, even when footage of their private conversation was leaked.
Many chastised her for her “misplaced loyalty”, although it seemed her patience was rewarded. CNN reported that he was sentenced to time served and will be released from custody and placed on 15 years of probation as part of a non-negotiable plea agreement.
The two have previously collaborated on multiple tracks, including 2021’s “Walked In” and 2023’s “Ride.” Following their release, the musical duo will definitely work creatively together again.
