Speaking to Variety about today’s artists, the 75-year-old hitmaker wondered whether other artists can still create new work.

“Who makes albums anymore?” Joel said. “I think the only people making new albums these days are Taylor Swift or Olivia Rodrigo. I don’t know who else makes albums. I don’t know what it’s like to market that album now.”
