Drake breaks record with 100 billion Spotify streams milestone after major financial losses

Drake made history by becoming the first artist to achieve a staggering 100 billion streams on the popular music platform Spotify.

This groundbreaking milestone was achieved on a meaningful Tuesday, just two months after he was about to hit 97 billion streams.

Upon receiving the latest update, Chart Data first published and then validated it through KWORB, a platform that specializes in monitoring streaming activity and rankings across various services.

Taylor Swift, currently in second place, is the strongest contender for the Canadian singer, trailing behind with an impressive 84.4 billion streams.

Drake’s monthly listener count skyrocketed to an impressive 78,140,542, firmly establishing his presence in the music industry.

Supporters of Champagne Papi expressed excitement at the news online, feeling confident that he had emerged victorious after his heated feud with fellow musician Kendrick Lamar.

Fans encouraged Lamar to step up his game and highlighted the similarities between the two musicians.

A former Twitter user, One X, even said: “Kendrick can never achieve this even in the next 10 years”.

Another wrote, referring to Drake, “Greatest hip hop artist ever. No other hip hop artist can replicate this anytime soon.”

Drake’s huge achievement came after a huge loss.

Amid the excitement of the NBA Finals on June 6, Drake took to Instagram to reveal his enthusiastic Bitcoin bet on the Mavericks, aiming for a significant prize of $1.37 million.

Unfortunately, the 2024 NBA Finals did not go in Drake’s favor as the Boston Celtics won their 18th championship by defeating the Mavericks by a dominant score of 4-1.

In a pivotal Game 5, the Celtics won 106-88 at home, marking a pivotal moment for the team. This victory moved them past the Lakers for the most titles in NBA history.

The “One Dance” singer lost $500,000 on that bet.

In addition to his NBA betting efforts, Drake also revealed another bet he made. This time, he bet another $500,000 on the Edmonton Oilers to win in their quest for the Stanley Cup.

Scheduled to take place on June 22, the upcoming match has high stakes for the frontrunner Degrassi star. Depending on the results, Drake could double his recent losses to $1 million or recoup his money significantly.
