FKA Twigs demands $10 million from Shia LaBeouf, Judge orders ex-couple to appear in court

Shia LaBeouf is currently involved in a lawsuit filed by his ex-girlfriend FKA Twigs. More recently, it was revealed that the musician was seeking $10 million in damages and a judge ordered both men to appear in court to share their statements.

According to court documents obtained by InTouch Weekly, a Los Angeles Superior Court judge has ordered the former couple to answer questions under oath about the case. They were originally scheduled to appear in court in October, but that has since been vacated, meaning a new trial will be scheduled for an upcoming hearing.

The legal battle stems from FKA Twigs accusing her ex-boyfriend of intentionally causing her to contract a sexually transmitted disease. She also claimed that the actor mistreated her throughout their relationship and even once threatened to shoot stray dogs when they went out together.

The “Oh My Love” hitmaker also accused Shia of being possessive and that she had to follow a set of rules when they were dating.

Regarding her claims about the STD incident, the singer alleged that she confronted the actor about the disease and he did not deny it. However, in his official response, LaBeouf denied all allegations.

According to People magazine, Shia LaBeouf and FKA Twigs met on the set of the movie Honey and began a relationship from 2018 to 2019, around the time the actor separated from his wife, Mia Goth.

In a previous interview with The New York Times, the singer revealed that her relationship was “the worst thing I’ve ever been through in my entire life.”

Bryan Freedman, FKA Twigs’ attorney, said in a statement about the case: “Any suggestion that FKA Twigs’ emotional pain should be dismissed for any career success is is absurd and disregards the idea that victims should have hope for the future.”

Since she asked for $10 million in damages, LaBeouf’s side has retaliated, and his lawyer said the musician had previously accused her of losing money for not completing her album and also losing her contract because of her ex-boyfriend.

However, his lawyer denied that the singer is currently “thriving” in her career even after her relationship with the actor.

“She continues to be active professionally, regularly releasing music videos and new music in 2020-2021,” LaBeouf’s attorney added.
