Justin Timberlake’s lawyer backs singer’s ‘vigorous defense’ in court after DWI arrest

Justin Timberlake’s attorney, Edward Burke Jr., released a statement after his client was arrested on June 18, 2024, in Sag Harbor in Long Island, New York.

“Mr. Burke looks forward to vigorously defending Mr. Timberlake against these charges. He will have more to say at the appropriate time. He is currently awaiting full discovery by the DA’s office,” the statement said .

Timberlake was charged with one count of driving while intoxicated and two other traffic violations, including failure to stop at a stop sign and failure to maintain lane. The Grammy Award-winning singer was arrested and eventually released without bail the next morning.

Although Timberlake asserted that he only drank one martini, the complaint listed him as “unable to divide his attention,” “slowly speaking,” “unsteady on his feet and even” performing poor on all standardized field sobriety tests.

Timberlake’s court date has been set for July 26, 2024, but the agency reported that Timberlake will not have to attend the hearing.

Meanwhile, Timberlake has remained silent about his recent arrest. As of this writing, he has yet to react to the recent legal limbo.

Page Six reported more details about the arresting officer’s interaction.

At one point, Timberlake’s friends told the police to let the *NSYNC leader go. It’s worth noting that the captor was so young that he didn’t recognize Timberlake at all.

“He didn’t recognize him or his name,” one of the insiders revealed. “Justin whispered: ‘This is going to ruin the tour.’ The police replied: ‘Which trip?’ Justin said, ‘World tour.'”

Meanwhile, many people laughed at Timberlake’s arrest on social networks.

“He and his wife have been trying really hard to rehabilitate their image. Welp. Playing stupid games to win stupid prizes,” one user on Reddit said, referring to Timberlake and his wife him, Jessica Biel.

“I don’t understand. If I had Timberlake’s money, I would buy myself the nicest, smoothest, most comfortable Rolls on the planet and keep a driver. Why do celebrities insist on driving in drunkenness when they could easily afford a car.” and driver or Uber or taxi or limo, etc??” one user wondered.

“He always finds new ways to always be the worst, he really seems to find new ways to disappoint. Dude you’re rich and there’s no reason for you to be driving in your condition Get drunk and endanger the community. Hire a private driver or car service.” Maybe even Uber. Drunk drivers are considered selfish idiots and the punishment should be harsher, he should be grateful that he did not kill or injure himself and others,” another person suggested.
