Early life
Lorna Maseko was born on the 3rd day of July 1983. She was born and raised in Alexander town in Gauteng, South Africa.
She got her great cooking skills from her mother, who always made sure she was present in the kitchen when cooking.
She took local dance classes around her family’s residence and gained foundational skills for her career as a ballerina.

Career
Lorna Maseko began her career as a dancer for the Afrikan Ballet Theater before joining the South African Ballet Theater company. She became South Africa’s first black ballerina. She left the dance industry after gaining national fame.
In 2007, she got a job in the television industry as a presenter with the South African Broadcasting Corporation. She is also a producer on Afro Showbiz News for SABC Africa. During her hosting days, she made it to the Top Billing Host Search list.
She reached the top 10 finals. Her performance helped her get a contract to film the 2010 World Cup. She performed very well and eventually got a contract on the show and became a host for the show Top Billing.
She founded an Event and Lifestyle Management company aimed at helping clients organize events and stay physically fit through fitness routines.

Lorna Maseko also appeared as a judge on the famous South African reality TV show, So You Think You Can Dance. She also hosts the South African cooking competition show Top Chef South Africa. She eventually started her own cooking and lifestyle reality show called The Hostess with Lorna Maseko.

Lorna Maseko is currently single after ending her six-year marriage to Gcina “GC” Lukhele.
