Miranda Cosgrove began her career in 2004 playing the evil younger sister, “Megan Parker,” on Nickelodeon’s Drake and Josh. After the series ended in 2007, the actor went on to headline her own series called iCarly, where she played the role of “Carly Shay.”

iCarly ended in 2012. But the show was rebooted by Paramount Plus in 2021 and is now in its third season.

In the movie, Miranda’s character Carly has an interesting family relationship. She was essentially raised by her brother Spencer, while their father, a member of the Air Force, was stationed overseas (almost indefinitely). And their mother was mentioned!

But unlike the show, Miranda’s IRL mom, Chris Cosgrove, is always by her side.

Back in August 2011, when Miranda was in a bus accident, her mother was by her side. It appears the duo were on a tour bus that crashed into a pickup truck that overturned and blocked the westbound lanes of Interstate 70 between St. Elmo and Brownstown.

After the accident, mother and child were taken to St. Anthony’s Memorial in Effingham.

Chris Cosgrove is a homemaker. She devoted her whole life to taking care of her husband and their daughter, thanks to which Miranda has now become a star.
