Menzi Ngubane was born on the 28th day of August 1964 in Ladysmith, KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa.

He was raised by his father and mother. His mother came home late, but his father had just celebrated his 90th birthday.

He grew up in the town of Ladysmith in South Africa. He was young and had seen his father struggle because of apartheid (racial segregation) in South Africa.

Career

Menzi Ngubane is a mainstay of the South African entertainment industry, having spent over 33 years in the industry. His fame began when he landed a role in the 1987 television series Kwakhala Nyonini.

His talent and great acting skills made him a star and appeared in several South African television shows. In 2004, he starred alongside famous black American actor Samuel L. Jackson in the South African film adaptation of the non-fiction novel Country Of My Skull.

Menzi Ngubane is currently married to Sikelelo Sishuba.

The couple got married in 2018 in a grand and traditional way with South African co-stars, friends, associates and family members in attendance.

His first marriage to Lerato Sedibe ended in 2014. He recently celebrated his father’s 90th birthday in lavish style in his hometown of Ladysmith. He has a daughter Aisha Ngubane from his first marriage.

He was fired from the show Generations along with several of his co-stars. This started a legal battle between him and the production team over unpaid wages as stipulated in the contract. The case was later resolved.

When not acting, he spends his time mentoring young South African men through the Twelve Good Gentlemen mentoring program with Menzi Ngubane.

He is a kidney failure survivor and was on dialysis from 2010-2015 before receiving a kidney transplant that saved his life.
