5 people died, 5 injured in explosion at explosives factory in Nagpur

A massive explosion occurred at a factory in Nagpur, Maharashtra on Thursday afternoon. This accident caused 5 people, including 4 women, to die on the spot, while about 6 people were said to be seriously injured. Police said the factory was located in Nagpur’s Dhamna village where explosives were prepared. The explosion was so powerful that the surrounding area shook from its sound and people could feel the sound far away. Nearby residents were asked to evacuate to ensure safety. Furthermore, the sound of the explosion spread for miles and shook everyone who heard it. As soon as news of the fire spread, the police and health department automatically reported to the spot and began relief efforts. Soon after, Maharashtra Home Minister also arrived at the scene and supervised the relief process as well as assessed the damage caused by the explosion. The exact cause of the explosion is unknown, but the initial cause was given as the negligence of workers and facility owners, endangering the lives of both workers and people living nearby.

The factory owner and Director are currently in charge

Nagpur Police Commissioner Ravindra Singhal said a joint team of police and fire brigade reached the spot. All senior officials were also present on the spot. Our top priority is relief and rescue work. The factory is currently being searched. According to information, the owner and manager of this factory are on the run and are being sought.

Home Minister Anil Deshmukh visited the factory

News agency ANI reported that Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader and Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh arrived at the scene. He assessed the damage and asked the police to investigate the cause of the explosion. Currently, the Maharashtra government has not announced any financial assistance to the families of the deceased.
