SZA Previews New Song ‘Storytime’ For Upcoming New Album – Listen

SZA previewed a new song on her social media account, teasing a new era to come.

She teased something new during her performance at BST Hyde Park in 2024. She asked the crowd, “New album, are you ready?” She then played a snippet of her unreleased song, “Storytime.”

Soon after, SZA shared the same snippet on her social media accounts, which now has a video.

“I know you told stories about me/Most of them bad, but they’re all true/Here’s some stories for you, yeah,” SZA sings in the video. In the clip, SZA is dressed and made up as an alien insect-like creature, somewhat similar to a photo she shared on Instagram a few months ago.

At the time of writing, it’s unknown whether SZA will release a brand new album or if she’ll continue working. Lanadeluxe edition of Grammy winning album SOS.

Speaking to Variety in November 2023, SZA revealed that the album was supposed to contain tracks cut from SOS and some new ones. However, it “becomes [sic] more” than she expected.

“It’s going to be really soothing because I’ve done all my screaming spots and I just want to glide and not think.” [too much]and get out of my own head – I’m happy to say some bullshit that doesn’t mean anything,” SZA revealed.

However, everything changed in March 2024, when she told fans that she was starting from scratch with her new album after some of its content leaked online.

“So we’re gonna make this really simple. You guys leaked three songs from the deluxe edition. At this point, you guys can keep the songs that were dropped and leaked,” SZA wrote on X in a now-deleted Tweet, as Rap-Up reported. “Don’t ask me about it again. Thank you.”

At the same time, she revealed that she would be releasing leaks and deleted footage from SOS as promised in the deluxe edition of the album. Although she notes that Lana is the premium version of SOS, she then said that Lana NME reported it deserved “more time and more music that no one has heard before”, signaling that the project could now be completely new.
