Here’s how Jon Bon Jovi felt when asked about advice from young musicians like Ed Sheeran

Jon Bon Jovi has been a rock musician for decades, making him one of the most legendary musicians of all time. It’s fitting that younger musicians ask him for advice, but he recently opened up about how he feels when they approach him.

The Bon Jovi lead singer stopped by SiriusXM, where he expressed his true feelings about “young guys” like Ed Sheeran who look to him for guidance because he’s a veteran in the industry.

Describing the “Thinking Out Loud” hitmaker, he said: “He’s one of the greats… Ed’s a very nice guy. I’ve met him many times over the years. We hang out a lot. He and his wife and kids come to my house to spend, you know, the weekend.”

He then explained that when artists like him reach a certain age with special experiences, younger artists will come to them like “The Ghost of Christmas Future”.

“And they started asking a lot of questions, like how and where, and they looked at those questions,” he added.

He then shared insight into the writing process of his collaboration with Sheeran titled “Living in Paradise”.

He recalled the British singer putting himself in Jovi’s shoes.

“When we were writing the script, he put himself in my shoes and, you know, because like I said, he and Cherry are so cute and, you know, just trying to figure it out,” he added.

Despite his legendary status, Jovi still has many people he admires and would like to collaborate with. He mentioned in interviews that one of them was Leonard Cohen, but he has since passed away. However, he considers Paul McCartney and Paul Simon to be future collaborators. He also named Mark Knopfler, among many others.

Jon Bon Jovi has released his latest album, Forever, last month via Island Records.

As of this writing, his band has yet to announce tour dates and he has no upcoming solo performances, following the musician’s 2022 vocal surgery.

The rock singer’s tour dates remain unclear as he claims his voice is good enough to perform more than two four-hour shows a week.

Despite that, he still looks forward to meeting his fans again and says he stays optimistic every day.
