Early life

Hushpuppi was born and raised in Lagos state, Nigeria, to parents of the Yoruba ethnic group in Africa.

His father and mother were a taxi driver and a bread seller, respectively.

Deji tweeted after police arrested 57 yahoo boys allegedly at clubs in Ikoyi.

Hushpuppi was arrested along with 11 others in six simultaneous raids. Detectives seized more than 150 million dirhams (about $40 million) in cash, 13 luxury cars worth Dh25 million ($7 million), 15 memory storage devices, 21 laptops, 47 smartphones, 5 external hard drives and potentially 800,000 emails. The FBI was also pivotal in his arrest, after which all investigations pointed to all of his transnational cybercrime.
