Early life and education
Jay Alvarrez was born on July 5, 1995 in Oahu, Hawaii, United States. At the age of fifteen, he ran away from home and dropped out of school in the seventh grade. He claims that his mother kept him in check, but after she passed away when he was 15, he went through a difficult time emotionally.
Ironically, while he was living the life of his dreams, he eventually got bored with his activities and started to miss home. After three years, Jay Alvarrez packed up and moved back to Hawaii in the summer of 2017 in search of a more balanced life because he missed his family and friends on this small Pacific island so much.
He decided to buy the ideal surfboard after saving enough money from his job. Jay Alvarrez, who always considered himself an outcast with thoughts, feelings, and interests different from most people, began receiving fan messages from people all over the world telling him how much they admired him for influencing them to get out of their comfort zones.
In March 2018, he released the video collection Jay In The Simulation EP #1 – Who is Jay Alvarrez? which features clips from his previous works and narrations recounting events from his life. Through his work creating animation, house music, and virtual reality videos, Jay Alvarrez rediscovered his love for short, episodic videos through this upload.
Career
When Jay Alvarrez was a senior in high school and fell in love with Amber, he began to develop an interest in photography. They both dropped out of school in the seventh grade because they believed they could benefit from their creativity. Fifteen years later, he decided to leave home to pursue his passion. With no money to support himself, he took every opportunity to take on any odd jobs he could find to save money for his passion: exotic travel.
He lost his mother that same year, which caused him to have an emotional breakdown and fall into a deep depression. But he believes that depression and creativity go hand in hand because they gave him the courage to finally be himself and live without constraints. When Jay Alvarrez realized that social media was becoming a thing at that time, he decided to post photos and videos of his travels around the world and his participation in extreme sports like skydiving on various social media platforms.
Jay Alvarrez started out on Tumblr but quickly moved to Instagram and YouTube. He got his big break as a model thanks to his social media following and his relationship with Alexis Ren at the time.

In his own words: The work got crazier and crazier, and the pay got bigger. Eventually, he got used to his new lifestyle, which included summers in Greece and the Mediterranean, fall in Los Angeles and Miami, winters in Dubai and Southeast Asia, and springs ending in Central America and the Caribbean.
