Audrey explains, “If you don’t work in finance or real estate, you don’t sign a contract the year before and show up in August when the summer ends. If someone is hiring in journalism, fashion or PR, you’ll interview and then two weeks later, you’ll start. They would never hire someone a year in advance. All my friends have jobs in finance, real estate, and consulting, and they all know exactly what they’ll be doing at the end of the summer.”
She added, “And summer came and I was the only friend who worked in a more creative industry, so I started applying and would be completely in the dark about whether they would hire me or not. And there are really only a few recruiting seasons a year that you wouldn’t even notice when you were in college.”
Audrey Peters completed her undergraduate studies at George Washington University. She graduated in 2019.
