Yeezy in Crisis? Kanye West Halts Site Orders as Prices Plunge, Other Financial Issues Emerge

Kanye West’s Yeezy website has announced it will no longer process orders after prices dropped significantly.

A notice posted on the website informs customers that they are “no longer accepting online purchases.”

Visitors to yeezy.com are now greeted with a minimalist homepage that only displays the current date and time. A recent statement from West is highlighted, informing users that the once-thriving e-commerce platform is no longer operational. However, the site states, “ALL EXISTING ORDERS WILL BE FULFILLED.”

The site reports that there are still 7,371 pending orders, although it is uncertain whether these orders will be fulfilled.

The “Donda” rapper has made the move to slash the price of all his merchandise to a cool $20 per piece.

In a commercial for the Super Bowl in February 2024, the controversial rapper said: “Hi everyone, I’m Ye, and this is my commercial.”

“And because we spent all of our money on commercials, we didn’t actually spend any money on actual advertising. But the idea is I want you to go to yeezy.com.”

Kanye West’s team sent him a report saying that his $0 production budget Super Bowl ad was a success. The 30-second ad, which cost $7,000,000, generated 284,357 Yeezy orders for a total of $19.3 million in sales in less than 24 hours. 😳 pic.twitter.com/wUMrzxnVJO

Originally advertised at a premium price, the collection featured a variety of items including T-shirts, shoes, and posters. The Pods, a unique pair of black knee-high boots that resemble socks, listed for $100, while long-sleeved shirts emblazoned with the subtle logo sold for over $200.

Despite the price drop, customers voiced concerns about high shipping fees and slow deliveries in February, casting doubt on the effectiveness of this pricing strategy in terms of public relations.

There’s also news that West is quietly shutting down his Yews News platform.

In December 2023, he launched a news website called Yews News, initially for mobile devices only. Prior to its launch, the “All of the Lights” rapper secured several trademarks for “Yews,” covering various projects and products in areas such as education, advertising, banking, music streaming, television, beauty care, food and beverage, gaming, clothing, footwear, cookware, alcoholic beverages, and more.

The site features drop-down menus labeled 10am, 3pm, and 8pm, each containing articles on a variety of topics like fashion, politics, and updates on the rapper’s rise in the industry.

A shift has also taken place on the site, resulting in a significant change in content management. Previously, the platform featured content sourced from popular news outlets, interspersed with erratic religious artwork.
