Did Sean Penn hit Madonna with a baseball bat? The actor spoke about the rumors

Decades ago, rumors circulated about Sean Penn that he allegedly beat his ex-wife, Madonna, with a baseball bat to the point that SWAT came to his home to question him about the matter.

Recently, the actor broke his silence and revealed that the rumors that have been circulating for a long time are not true.

Penn recently spoke to the New York Times about the matter, saying authorities got involved when SWAT arrived at his home.

“I said, ‘I’m not going out. I’m going to finish my breakfast.’ The next thing I knew, the windows around the house were broken and they rushed in. They handcuffed me,” he said.

Additionally, he was also dating another woman who confronted him about the matter, and he remembers her looking at him as if he had killed her dog, added that he didn’t know what she was talking about.

Madonna and Sean Penn were married from 1985 to 1989, and during their marriage there were rumors that they had a tumultuous relationship.

Despite their less-than-perfect romance and divorce, the actor admitted that the pop royalty will always have a place in his heart: “She’s the one I love.”

“It turns out that repairing a friendship after divorce is much faster if there are no children involved. [ex-wife Robin Wright] and me for quite a while. There’s a lot of drama. It’s much more important to fix it if there are children involved, but it’s not that easy to turn around, is it?” he added.

This is not the first time allegations of abuse have been discussed as Madonna herself has spoken out about it and denied the rumours, saying that although they had many arguments throughout their relationship, the actor never never tied her up or assaulted her.

“Any reports to the contrary are completely outrageous, malicious, reckless and false,” she said.

In 2016, the former couple reunited for a charity gala at Art Basel in Miami to help the African nation of Malawi.

At that time, the male singer auctioned off memorabilia, art collections, etc

So much so that the musician joked that she still loved Penn and that she was willing to marry the actor again as long as he paid the price of $150,000.
