The tragic news was confirmed on his official Facebook account with a statement that read: “With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Johnny Canales.”

The letter, written in English and Spanish, reflects on the singer’s life as he is described as a “beacon of hope and joy” for many.

“He was not only a beloved husband, father, television host, musician and entertainer; He was also a beacon of hope and joy to countless people.”
The letter further notes that Canales has infectious charisma and is dedicated to promoting Latin music and culture.

The letter continued, “Johnny’s spirit will continue to live on through the countless lives he touched and the legacy he built.”
His family then expressed gratitude to those who have sent them love and support during this difficult time.
“Let us remember him not with sadness but with the joy and passion he always brought to our lives,” they concluded.

According to Billboard, Canales was born in Nuevo Leon, Mexico, but moved to Corpus Christi, Texas as a child.
The musician has loved music since the early days of his career, which shows in his musical career as a singer. Although he is passionate about music, hosting television shows has helped him become famous.

Canales became a regular fixture on the Univision network from 1988 to 1996 in his role. Johnny Canales Show. His participation in the show enabled him to entertain countless Mexicans living in the United States.
He has featured regional Mexican artists on his show, such as Los Tigres del Norte, Los Elámpagos del Norte and Intocable. He was also an important part of Selena Quintanilla’s career.
In 1997, the singer moved to Telemundo, where he continued to participate in the program for many years.
Unfortunately, the singer also experienced a tragic moment in his life when he suffered a stroke in 2008; the condition affected him physically as he lost mobility, which eventually led to him leaving the entertainment industry.
Earlier this year, he seemed to have recovered from his illness, but he became weaker until his death.
