Little Mix Reunion Planned After Hiatus, But Perrie Edwards Is Adamantly Against It — Here’s Why

Fans were shocked and saddened when Little Mix announced they would be taking a hiatus in 2022. More recently, the girl group were revealed to be reuniting, but Perrie Edwards insisted they wouldn’t continue as they were focusing on their solo careers.

The 30-year-old pop star appeared in an episode of Dish podcast with Nick Grimshaw and Angela Hartnett OBE, in which she confirmed that there was an occasion when she and her bandmates, Leigh-Anne Pinnock and Jade Thirlwall, spoke on their group chat because they were bored after a break.

“We were like, I’m bored. What are you doing today? And Leigh-Anne was like, ‘I’m really sick of this.’ And Jade was like, ‘Yeah, why are we pushing this again?’ she recalls.

Afterwards, they all thought about going back because it felt weird not being in a group, but Edwards insisted they should continue to stick to their decision.

“And I thought, ‘We did it, we have to see it through,’” she added.

“It’s like, that’s unusual for us.” She added: “We were so bored, it was horrible, and now I like doing nothing. Like I’m really good at it. So I don’t think I would like to struggle that much. I like working and I also like not working. So I think it’s a good balance,” she added.

Little Mix became famous when they were formed in The X Factor in 2011. They won the entire reality singing competition and have had a successful career.

The girl group used to have four members, including Jesy Nelson, but she left the group in 2020 to pursue a solo music career.

In other updates, Edwards spoke to the Zach Sang Show and hinted that a song on her new album made her emotional. She explained that the track was inspired by a friendship she no longer had, seemingly hinting that it was about her former bandmate Nelson.

“There was a friendship that I no longer had. I wrote a song about that friendship. I can’t even listen to that song without crying,” she said, adding that the song was “really sad” because she no longer talks to that friend.

“They were such a big part of my life so it’s sad that it ended like this,” she said.

When host Zach Sang asked if they could get back together as friends in the future, the musician said she was open to the idea.
