Before taking over the charts in 2024, the musician juggled his trade as an artist and summer camp counselor.

“I teach at a summer camp, I’m a cabin counselor because I love it and it takes you with the tide,” she said of her job in 2023, adding, “It’s easy It’s easy to feel that this is the whole world and nothing happens outside, but working at a summer camp where I just help wash dishes.

In 2024, her entire career trajectory changed after she opened for Olivia Rodrigo’s GUTS World Tour and became a performer at Coachella. Since then, the musician has steadily gained new fans, going from one million listeners on Spotify to over 20 million.

Four of her songs, including the breakthrough song “Good Luck, Babe!”, are currently at the top of the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

Despite her success, the singer seemed overwhelmed, as she admitted during a performance at the Red Hat Amphitheater in North Carolina that she was having trouble keeping up with her career.

“I just want to be honest with the crowd. Today I feel a little down because I think my career is moving so fast and it’s hard to keep up,” she said.

She then clarified that what she has now is what she once wanted, but sometimes it feels heavy.
